Reader opinions and news feedback
Giving an opinion, critiquing a story or liking it is optional and requires no account. We store the feedback type, any submitted text, the story reference and the date, linked to your account or the essential browser identifier used to manage submissions and prevent duplicate likes. Feedback goes to the office team for review and is not published automatically. You can delete it from My account and submissions or request deletion at bfyecs@gmail.com and info@fyecs.com. Avoid personal or sensitive information.
Office alerts and reports
An appeal may receive an initial priority flag for owner review, based on the sender’s choice or urgency-related words. This does not verify the situation or provide an emergency service. When office email is enabled, Resend sends only the submission reference and admin link, without its text or contact details. Weekly reports contain aggregate counts and remain private to the owner. Technical sending records are deleted after 90 days; you can delete your submission from your workspace.
Visit statistics
We collect daily aggregate visit counts for the website and app to improve the service and display a shared public visit indicator. Detailed statistics and reader feedback remain owner-only. These statistics store no names, email addresses, raw IP addresses, personal identifiers or individual browsing history, and use no analytics cookies. Page details, search text and referral information are not sent to an external service. We respect browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals; visitors who choose them see the total without adding their visit. Known crawlers are excluded. Figures represent visits, and a person may return more than once.
External survey
Opening the Google Forms survey is optional. Google processes data submitted in its form under its own terms and privacy policy, and your answers may reach the survey organizer. Merely visiting this website does not open the form or send data to it. Check the organizer’s details before sending personal information.
Office and contact
Franco-Yemeni Studies Office, part of ALKENDI — SIREN 989 943 634. For inquiries and requests to access, correct or delete your data: bfyecs@gmail.com and info@fyecs.com.
Your voice and submission follow-up
You can submit without an account. We collect the title, description and submission type, plus any country, city, source or contact details you choose to provide. Contact details are optional. Submissions are held for review by the responsible editor; personal data is not published or shared with others without separate consent, unless required by law. Do not send identity documents, medical data or information about children or people at risk.
Follow-up from this device
When you submit or subscribe to notifications, we set an essential secure cookie linking your request to this browser for up to one year. It contains no name or contact details; the server stores a cryptographic derivative. You can follow and delete submissions under “Account and submissions”. Clearing cookies removes direct access to guest submissions; keep your reference number to ask the office for help.
Sign-in and account deletion
Available sign-in methods depend on the enabled services. Google, Apple, Facebook or X may share an account identifier, name, email and photo. We do not receive your provider password. Email sign-in uses a temporary code sent through Resend. We store sessions and linking information needed for secure sign-in. Signing in does not grant permission for newsletters or notifications. Account deletion in the app removes sign-in details, private submissions and linked subscriptions, but does not automatically remove an article published in your name. Contact us about published content or another device’s data.
Optional notifications
Notifications require your choice and device permission. We store the delivery endpoint, encryption keys, article and reply preferences and consent date, linked to your account or browser. Notifications pass through your operating system or browser service. Reply notifications contain neither your submission nor the reply text, protecting privacy on the lock screen. You can disable them in the app or device settings; disabling them in the app deletes the subscription.
Saved articles and offline reading
Articles you open or save are stored on your device, with saved status and reading time, for offline use. The latest 100 unsaved reads are kept; saved items remain until removed or reading data is cleared. We do not synchronize reading or search history with a central account. Offline mode does not store sign-in or private submission data. You can clear reading data in app settings. An old article copy may remain until the device reconnects.
Security, retention and your rights
We use HTTPS, access controls, secure sessions and request limits to reduce abuse. Rate limits use cryptographic identifiers rather than storing raw IP addresses. Hosting and sign-in providers may process technical connection logs under their policies. We use no advertising or marketing trackers. Submissions are kept while needed for review, follow-up or legal obligations, and can be deleted from your space or by a request with the reference number. Technical notification delivery history is kept for seven days without private submission text. We do not sell your data. You can request access, correction or deletion, withdraw consent, and complain to a data protection authority, including France’s CNIL.
